Technical Details — 117 MW Units

The boilers are front-wall fired using natural gas or residual fuel oil and are a Babcock & Wilcox design. Each boiler has 12 burners and comprises a single furnace compartment with a main and a rear gas pass, horizontal continuous-loop feed water economiser, three horizontal and one vertical primary super-heater stages and two banks of pendant secondary super-heaters with interstage attemperators, and two pendant banks of re-heaters.

TURBINE Specification

The Associated Electrical Industries (AEI) designed turbine generator is a horizontal, close coupled, tandem compound, reheat, impulse type, operating at 3,000rpm, with a stop valve steam condition of 1,800 psig at 1,000 F (538 C). The turbine is directly coupled to the generator capable of generating 117 MW of electrical power at 13.8 kilovolts.

The reverse flow HP Turbine cylinder is of double shell construction, comprising an inner and outer casing, each divided and bolted at its horizontal line joint. Each casing is cast separately in Cr-Mo-V steel. The HP Rotor is machined from a 1%Cr-Mo-V alloy steel forging with eleven blade disc formed integral with the rotor and bolted to the IP rotor shaft through a rigid coupling.

The IP turbine consists of a single shell construction comprising a molybdenum vanadium steel inlet and a cast carbon steel outlet cylinder bolted together. The IP turbine rotor will be forged in Cr-Mo-V steel with eleven discs formed integral with the shaft.
LP TURBINE: (Double flow - 6 stages )

The LP turbine cylinder consists of an inlet cylinder and two exhaust cylinders, the exhaust cylinders being bolted to the inlet cylinder front and rear vertical flanges. Steam enters the inlet midway along the length of the cylinder and divides in two equal axially opposed flows. Each flow passes through four impulse stages followed by a Baumann multi-exhaust comprising the two last stages. The LP rotor is machined from a Ni-Cr-Mo-V alloy steel forging with an integral half coupling at each end connecting the rotor to the IP turbine and the generator.

Each Feed Heater will comprise a heater shell, a tubenest assembly and an Inlet and Outlet waterbox. The high level Deaerator will consist of a cylindrical storage vessel upon which is mounted a deaerating chamber and a vent condenser.
